☺VeganCraftastic Giveaway!!!☺

Who's ready for another Giveaway?! ;D

I am very happy to share with you the lovely work of VeganCraftastic!

VeganCraftastic is a neat Etsy Shop that specializes in handmade accessories for crafters, pins, notebooks, crafting patterns, and more! You can find some super adorable printed pins, keychains, magnets, and zipper pouches, and totes, just to name a few of the amazing work!

I personally purchased this super cute "Little Pig" Keychain, but I'll tell you it was tough to decide as there were so many I fell in love with! I am extremely happy with my new little Piggie to guard my keys!

*********************************************

Before we get to the giveaway, here's my interview with the lovely lady behind VeganCraftastic...

Tell us a bit about yourself. I'm Kala and I'm a crafty vegan girl that loves to make stuff, bake, and dream up recipes.

How did Vegancraftastic come to be? Vegancraftastic started as my blog, I wanted a name that would describe what I did in a fun and quirky way. A few years ago I decided to open an Etsy shop and it just seemed natural to also call it Vegancraftastic.

Where do you find inspiration? I get inspired from everything, nature, animals, art....inspiration is everywhere!

If you had all the money in the world, what handmade item would you buy? I would probably buy an amazing and intricate handknit shawl, something beautiful and so complicated that I would never want to knit it for myself.

How long have you been Vegan and what made you decide to be Vegan? I've been vegan for 10 years and decided to become vegan for ethical reasons. Once I stopped kidding myself about how cruel and damaging an omnivore lifestyle can be, it was a simple choice to go vegan.

Random fact? I love uncooked tofu and tempeh and love to gross my husband out by eating it :)

Best piece of advice for life in general? Never make decisions based on money alone!

☺ Inspirational: Motivational Mondays!☺

Life is so wonderful and fantastic isn't it?! Well, if you need a pick-me-up here are some tips to get pumped about Monday and the rest of your week! ;D

☺ Accept Responsibility over your own life... over your own actions, stresses, experiences, and emotions. You are in control of You--not anyone else.
☺ Respect Balance! There are always going to be times in life that you have to balance out everything in your life, remember that balance is important, and a hard day of work needs an equal day of fun and yet another equal day of rest. Find a good balance and do experience it all with a smile and appreciation.
Walk Barefoot... in the grass, down the street, anywhere you feel like it. It's a beautiful feeling to have your toes actually touch the earth, connecting you to the earth. I wish I could be barefoot all the time! ...just watch where you step and don't step on any glass or anything like that. ;)
Say no to bad foods! It's so easy to fall into bad eating habits, especially when you are surrounded by others, even one person, eating things to tempt you. Remember that will power and stick to it. The feeling of being healthy will far-outweigh a couple mouthfuls of bad-for-you foods!
☺ Watch a good Documentary! I am not often an advocate for watching television, however I think that you can learn to much from documentaries and they can absolutely open up your mind to new ideas. Plus there are soooo many amazing ones out there just waiting to be watched!
☺ Pick fresh Fruit!! Depending where you live I suppose, but lots of places have community gardens and if you're near nature then chances are there are wild raspberry bushes, cherry trees, or so many other options! Maybe things are looking ripe in your own little garden too! The cherries here in Nelson are just about ripe now and so are the random raspberry bushes we are seeing everywhere. Nothing tastes better than freshly picked fruit! Yum! If you're picking wild berries, just don't eat the poisonous ones, make sure you know what you are eating!
☺ Make the most of Life!!! There is no good reason not to be smiling all day long and not embrace every inch of life! You are alive!!! Be happy about that! Be grateful for your life! Plus you'll draw more good things to your life if you love and embrace it!

I love you all! Make this week epic! Tell me about your plans and your adventures! :)

☺ Inspirational: Weekly "Smile Up"!☺

Sorry for the lack of blogging! I'm hoping that you're all  having a blast and are super busy with your summers so that you don't mind the lack of blogging on my part. I'm honestly not sure how often you lovelies want me to be blogging in these beautiful summer months so perhaps you could let me know. ;)

So I guess today's "Smile Up" is for the past two weeks since I didn't end up dishing up on last week. What have I been up to then? What I am grateful for and loving about life right now? Well let me tell you...

July 23rd Weekly "Smile Up":

My first week was actually fairly mellow... well, mellow in the sense that there isn't too much to share, insane in the sense that I have been super busy with work--which I certainly don't mind! ;) Regardless, it was a good week, one focussing a bit more on the resting and vegging out after a week of lots play. Balance is everything!
This past week (since the 17th) has been more eventful and quite the blast. Again, balance seems to be everything. There is always time for work, play, and relaxing!

The Moon's cycle I've also noticed affecting others, and I certainly think it has been with me... that and hormones, got to love being a woman sometimes. ;) I've been pretty lately, and I've heard of a ton of other people feeling the same way. The full moon just passed and that could have had something to do with it. I've also noticed a lot more chemtrails in the skies though too and the tiredness began after a few spray days after the sky actually being clear for a while. Coincidence? Perhaps. Whose to say?

☺ Learning lots from vending at the Cottonwood Market. Last week was much slower with so many festivals going on in the area. Today was more eventful, lots of lookers but still not many buyers. It is still so much fun meeting new people and getting out there.
☺ Had some awesome trades today as well at the market. I love trading!!! It's such a great way to support community!
☺ I randomly ran into a guy that I went to gymnastics with when I was about 10-years old. I had a crush on him, apparently he did too because his friends teased him about his "imaginary girlfriend." It's fun running into people you haven't seen in yearrrrrssss!!
☺ Meeting more lovely amazing people! Always extra special when they are like-minded and you get the chance to start building a friendship! :)
☺ We officially adopted Buster last Friday and he has been neutered. He had a speedy recovery and seems to love being home again. :)
☺ Visiting with my mom, my best friend in the world!
☺ Playing with my little sister, she is simply too cute!
☺ Not letting others push me around. Ever. I don't put up with people's problematic lives they try to take out on me. I am happy, if they want to be miserable then that is their deal, not mine.
☺ Seeing friends. I have lovely amazing friends! :)
☺ Still learning to step out of my comfort zone, had a moment of failure last week but I'm learning and growing from it. And I made up for it this week.
☺ Spontaneous day trips! Add amazing people into the equation and you have a perfect day.
☺ Kaslo!
☺ Sharing Life theories and lessons. I love those deep conversations that get you thinking. The past two weeks have been full of them!
☺ Celebrating a new friend's birthday and spending the day on the beach.
☺ Watching kite-surfers!
☺ Playing with other people's dogs (since I don't yet have one of my own).
☺ Scoped out a mobile. The hubby and I have been eyeing up properties and a home together. *Fingers crossed* something perfect comes along.
☺ Had a couple tea dates. I love coffee shops! There is one here that's got all sorts of raw goodies, matcha lattes, and amazing smoothies! What's not to love?!
☺ My husband brought me home wild flowers. <3
☺ Getting to see all three of my brothers. They are amazing.
☺ Went to a local Metal show and had a total blast!!! I haven't been to a metal show in over a year!! Attempted the mosh-pit but there were a couple guys being a tad too rough.

Interests for the week:
✯  Still reading my book, "The Secret" and loving it... I should probably read more and finish it soon!
✯  All caught up on "True Blood!" now I have to watch it like everybody else, waiting for new episodes every week haha. ;)
Music Playlist: Flower Fairy. Silly pop music to dance to. Some Classical Dubstep. Rage Against the Machine. Some of my favorite metal; Machine Head, In flames, Slipknot...  it's been an odd mix of music lately!
✯  Food Faves: Juice Smoothies Garbanzo Cookie Balls  Matcha Lattes ♥ Raw Desserts! Indian Food

Lessons of the week:
☀ Always remembering that self-love is good for the soul. Self-love is important, not egotistical! Others may not like it but you have to be true to yourself and not let them bring you down. Don't take things too seriously. There is always a lesson to be learned in everything. Respect Balance! Never judge people or circumstances. You are the master of your life. You get to choose it!

Hope you're all having an amazing week and that your life is filled with lots of wonderful experiences and lessons and laughter!

Ⓥ Vegan Unity Community Ⓥ

I'd like to share with you a fun experience that coincidentally came together a couple weeks ago. My lovely friend, Andrea, was working (at a local restaurant here in Nelson)and while it was quiet happened to sit down with a gentlemen enjoying the patio. Long story short, this man's name was Drew and he is on this fabulous mission for Vegan Unity. Andrea told him about myself, since I am vegan, and he gave her a brightly colored wristband to give to me. The next day we randomly ran into him downtown, which gave me the chance to meet him, discuss veganism, his mission, and play with his fun dog as well.

So, let me tell you a bit about the wristband and the "Vegan Unity" project.
Firstly, check out the website here: Vegan Unity.
Vegan Unity is about uniting vegans worldwide, with the Vegan Wristband being our own little symbol in the world. Just like Harley riders wear patches, and other groups have their "mark," the Vegan Wristband is our connection to other vegans--and is not a bad way to get people asking about it and therefor about veganism altogether.
The point is to create a positive change in the world, and the Vegan movement is just that-- a positive change for us, for animals, for our future, and for our planet. The website creates a social network, a place to be open and meet new like-minded individuals and get involved in the vegan community.

Personally, I adore my fun bright Vegan Wristband! And I have one more to give away. If you'd like one please comment below! I will select a winner at random on Saturday morning, so you have until Friday at midnight to comment. ;) I may include some other vegan goodies as well. ;)

So go check out Drew's awesome website and movement over at Vegan Unity and get your wristband as well! :)

☺ Inspirational: Motivational Mondays!☺

I apologize for missing out on last week's Motivational Monday post, and being later posting this one! Life has been busy, which I will never complain about when it's the good awesome kind of busy that makes you feel alive. But I promise to make sure I'm more on the ball with things from now on. Hopefully last week was amazing regardless. If not, here's some pointers to make this week fabulous!

Have a Beach day! Or a day by the water or something outdoors! There's something in particular about water that is just so refreshing and makes you feel alive.
Love yourself! Too often I hear negativities about loving yourself, that silly mentality that says it's egotistical or shallow. There is nothing wrong with loving yourself and expressing that love, we shouldn't be ashamed of it! So express is and share it! If you can't love yourself how can you expect to show love to anything else in life?
Go with the flow... "Stress happens when the mind resists what is." Stop stressing over things that haven't happened yet or might not happen at all. Let it go and stop resisting life. Learn to chill out and go with the flow.
Stop expecting the worst... this kind of goes along with the above, but an extra reminder not to think negatively. Stop creating the worse scenario in your head and instead focus on positivity.
Do Yoga or Meditation... or something spiritual. Explore some peaceful practices, get in touch with your soul, enrich that lovely soul.
Give People a chance... and stop judging them. Be kind and open to all the people around you. You may be surprised by people and their stories when you stop immediately judging a person by their appearance or first impression.
Have Fun!!! Make time for having fun in your life! If you're always working all the time then you will be missing out on life. Allowed yourself fun time, and make time for lots of it!!

Your life is wonderful and you are in control of it! Make it what You want! Have a wonderfully amazing week!!! xoxo

☺ Inspirational: Weekly "Smile Up"!☺

I'm two days late, although I'm thinking this segment should be a sunday segment anyways (still making it a day late) since I feel like that's a bit more of my end of the week ;).  Why am I late posting? I simply haven't had the time to write anything up. You know, busy living life to the absolute fullest. ;) This weekend has been amazing, well the whole week has been, but especially this weekend. Why? Well, let me tell you all the reasons...

July 10th Weekly "Smile Up":

☺Saying Yes to every invitation and opportunity!
I mean absolutely 100% yes. Perhaps within reason but all of my week's opportunities were things that I genuinely WANTED to do and so I believe that I drew those experiences to me and they were drawn to me. Good ol' "law of attraction."
☺I am loving the "Law of Attraction" mentality, it simply makes so much sense--I'll share more on this if you are not familiar with a blog post this week. ;)

This week has been full of meeting all sorts of new awesome, upbeat, like-minded, creative, and fun people!! Lots of "first" experiences as well.

There has been so much to tell about this week, especially the weekend, so here it goes...

☺ Had my first Beach day of the summer with my hubby.
☺ First jump in the lake--which is ice cold so it really was a run-in and run-out kind of deal, but still incredibly refreshing on a 37 degree day!
☺ Lots of outside venturing with beautiful hot weather at last!
☺ Chemtrail Free skies!!! Omg!!! We had three days of actual blue sky!!! Can you believe it! :)
☺ Watched the new Transformers movie!!! It was epic... I'm a huge dork, I'm okay with that. ;)

☺ The epic weekend....
I did my very first Market!!! And it was amazing!
I really wasn't sure what to expect and it was a great experience all-around! I went in without any real expectations, although I anticipated that it would be a huge learning experience. As it turned out things ran pretty smoothly. The sun was shining and there was no threat of rain--which was fortunate because I was ill-prepared without a tent because for some reason I thought they provided tents there, silly me. Right off the bat I met some wonderful other creative-minds, including Emelie of Timjan Design who even offered part of her tent. I didn't end up needing it but I was right across from her and the guys of ZenDawn and got to chill out and talk lots. I also traded some items from Emelie, and might be collaborating or learning to do some screen-printing from ZenDawn. Everyone I met was super friendly, inviting, and down-to-earth which I loved! A huge thanks to Emelie though, she was wonderful! :)

I made sales for Alter-Eco Clothing which I was very happy about--again, I wasn't sure what to expect and it turned out being more than worth-it!

Aside from meeting other cool artisans, it was also fantastic to be able to interact with customers and getting to see them in their new Alter-Eco items! It's been a long time since there has been a social aspect to my job so spending all day out of my own home while working was perfect bliss. It was also a beautiful sunny day and there was a great turn-out and I got to be a part of an amazing atmosphere and community and support other local talent.

What is funny too, and you may have seen on my facebook statuses, but I was close to skipping out on this Saturday market. At the end of the day they were all excuses--I didn't feel prepared enough, my bamboo racks weren't quite together and we needed to buy more bamboo poles, I didn't have change and the banks would be closes, and other little excuses.

My other excuse was also that I decided to go out Friday night. I almost didn't do that either because I did want to do the market and figured I would be too tired if I did go out. But I hadn't been out in ages and became resolute in having a fun night at the cost of perhaps missing out on the Market--there was always next Saturday and I would be more prepared, was my excuse. My lovely new friend, Andrea, didn't get off work until midnight, so I knew it'd be a late night. As it turned out, her encouraging words and my firm "Yes" attitude had me enthusiastic and motivated enough to jump out of bed in the morning at 8am to get to the market for 8:30am and set up. And I am so glad that I did! Go Yes attitude!

We had a blast Friday night as well. On my walk to Andrea's work I saw a raccoon across the street--and took a crappy picture. I hung out while she closed and then we headed to a dubstep show that I knew a bunch of people were going to. It was a good turnout, got to dance and party it up. Andrea and I headed to cottonwood falls afterwards for a bit too and simply enjoyed the starlit sky and the falls and park. I didn't get home until 3:30am so I was somehow functioning on four hours of sleep for the whole Market. But I wasn't just functioning, I felt amazing! I was high on life and having a blast. I had lots of visitors and support too which was muchly muchly appreciated and enjoyed!

Saturday night I went out again. I ran into an old friend from high school who I haven't seen in about six years and had been trying to arrange to meet up with. Timing kept being off so it was awesome running into her randomly at the market and then hanging out afterwards and catching up. More of the night turned out to have more run-ins with other people from high school who I haven't seen in years either. We headed out to a house party in the middle of nowhere that I'd been invited to during the market--again going with the "Yes" attitude, we at least checked it out and hung out for a while before heading back into town. I later met back up with Andrea and long-story short went in a bit of a circle and it ended up having some huge learning experiences and a totally amazing night. I also walked home at 4:30am, saw a skunk--who kindly minded his own business--and got to see the sky already brightening with a beautiful blue, it was a sight I have rarely seen in my life.

Sunday contained more awesome girl time. I gave my old skate-shoes that were too big for me (and not vegan) to one of Cory's co-workers and she was super stoked about it. Andrea and I also randomly ran into this awesome guy who is starting a "Vegan Unity" movement and had given Andrea a bracelet for me the day before when she had met him and told him about me--I'll tell you more about this in another post too! ;) We rode on the old vintage Tram here which I haven't been on since I was probably 10 years old. And then we got to go boating with Cory's super friendly boss and check out our little garden which is at his house as well.
Our garden is growing and we got to eat more fresh kale as well as sweet peas and strawberries!! Soooo goood!!
In the evening we mellowed out at the lakeside patio of Ric's grill, where Cory's oldest brother works, met some more new people there as well.
And last night I finally got a good nights sleep! ;)

Despite the lack of sleep I was full of energy and enjoying every second of each day. I can't even tell you how high on life I have been, it is the most amazing feeling in the world. I have often been stubborn about welcoming those new experiences and saying yes--old habits die hard and all those excuses. But this week proved the power of that awesome attitude, and the repetition of Positive Affirmations. Everything that has been entering my life has been experiences that I have one way or another asked for. It is amazing and I love it! It's all about living life to the fullest! Welcoming those new experiences!

Loving: Meeting new people • Saying "Yes" • Sunshine • Boating  Fresh Food • Juice • Girl Time  Skirts • Bracelets • Vegan Unity  • Photos • Wildlife • Nelson • Summer • Water • Beaches Life

Interests for the week:
✯  Loving "The Secret" it just makes too much sense to ignore and super inspiring!
✯  Still watching "True Blood" of course ;).
✯  Transformers.
Music Playlist: Dub FX!!! Been listening to their album "Everythinks a Ripple" and I absolutely love it and recommend it! Deep lyrics with awesome talent! I also get to see them on Wednesday!! :) Lots of reggae, dubstep, and dance tunes!
✯  Food Faves: Fresh Food from the Garden!!! Veggie Burgers Daiya Cheese Juice Matcha Lattes.

Lessons of the week:
Sooooo many!!! Put shortly...
Never judge people. Everyone has a story, be open to it and see the person beneath the surface Show Kindness to everyone! Positive Affirmations work!!! Whatever you put out you will receive. The power of saying "Yes" Excuses are always excuses. If you want something stop making excuses for yourself and go get it!

I hope your week has been as amazing as mine and if it wasn't, make this week epic!!! You can if you want to! Much love my lovelies!! xoxoxo
