☺ Sharing Beliefs without being Pushy ☺

It's sometimes difficult when you have strong moral values or opinions on certain subjects and then are faced with someone who is absolutely ignorant to the topic. Let's face it, there are an awful lot of people in the world that would rather turn a blind eye to the world than open up to the truth. If you are reading my blog then I am going to assume that you probably have lots (or at least a few) pretty strong values of your own, whether it's on animal rights issues, veganism, eco-consciousness, being healthy, finding your higher self, or anything else. So chances are you know what I'm talking about, and even if you don't, chances are you have at least witnessed heated arguments, people getting defensive, or people with pushy points of views. Usually it's just people getting overly passionate in their beliefs but they often come out looking like an asshole. It's sometimes difficult to discuss a topic--even when provoked--and actually get your point across while being pushy. But you also don't want to keep your mouth closed on the topic either. Because it's important to you of course, and a part of you, and you truly Want to share what you know and try to change the world and be a positive influence--or at least get them to open their eyes more on the subject.
The key is communicating properly. And that means being warm and kind in dialogue on any subject--especially when you are challenging someone else's point of view (even if you know you're right ;)). People don't like to be wrong. They don't like to feel alienated or challenged or angered. And people can be incredibly stubborn with their opinions. It's a sort of self-defensive mechanism. Don't put them on the defensive, engage people in an open and respectful manner. This gives a chance at a friendly conversation, and you are much more likely to get your point across in this way and will make them more open to hearing another point of view.
There are better ways to share your truth and opinions without reaming someone out because you don't agree with what they're doing or really tickles your nerves. Don't be judgemental or condescending. Just share information in a positive and open manner. You can still be passionate, but stay non-judgemental and try to keep the conversation friendly, engage them so that they are interested. If they don't look at all interested then you may just want to just drop the subject. Perhaps it's not the right time, and trying to share your point of view will only anger them, make them shut down, or perhaps make them hold even tighter onto their stubborn belief. Respect their own boundaries and opinions. You don't have to agree with everyone, in fact you certainly won't, and there is nothing wrong with that. The last thing you want to do is be preachy and condescending. People never respond well to that, and that will only fire up a negative reaction in yourself as well. People do not respond well to negativity. People are much more likely to listen to you and absorb what you have to say if you are kind, light-hearted, and engage them in the conversation.
Sometimes it has nothing to do with the way you are communicating with people as well. You could be talking to someone in the absolute most sweetest and warm-hearted manner possible and they still just might not want to listen to you. Know when to step back and when to engage a topic.

The fact is that most people just don't know, so sharing information, and letting them know what you know, could change their values and points of view altogether. Think about it; how many people know just how cruel the meat industry is? That the veal industry is directly linked to the dairy industry? That dairy isn't actually good for you? That there are chemtrails in the skies above us? That the news and media are not truthful and are used to manipulate and control people? That the medical industry is corrupted by pharmaceuticals? That animal testing is medically inviable? That our diets directly affect our mental health? That you don't need drugs to get better from something? That vaccinations do more harm than good… okay, so I could go on and on, but you get the point. Most of this is not common knowledge. The truth is that most people just haven't thought outside of what the media and society tells them--because they have no good reason not to believe it. So share information and let them slowly warm up to the concept that what they think they know, they might not actually know at all.
A compassionate approach has a far bigger impact and people are much more open to it. Be respectfully honest and arm yourself with some facts, so that you can respond well to their questions or what they may have to say. There is nothing wrong or preachy about sharing information in a kind conversation. Be sure you are educated on the subject so you can appropriately answer their questions--or point them in the right direction if they do take interest in what you have to say. Be kind and positive! Communicate in a respectful, open, and non judgemental manner. It's the best advice I can give.

♥ New ReLove Plan.et goodies :) ♥

For this being my blog, I'm pretty bad at writing about new products in my shops. So I thought today I would share some of the adorable new goodies you can get in the new Etsy Shop (www.ReLovePlanet.Etsy.com)
First, I got necklaces up and absolutely adore them. The chains are lovely and hang beautifully as well and I love the quality. I will also have a limited amount of larger pendants coming to the shop this week and some on hemp necklaces! One for $20 or 2 for $30! :)

Also available are my cute sassy characters on magnets. These are totally eco-friendly; the images (like the necklaces) are printed on 100% recycled mid-weight paper stock, on genuinely recycled bottle caps and have tiny (but super strong) earth magnets. They are available in various quantities--the more you buy the cheaper they are. ;)

These next ones I definitely has fun with. I have to laugh because as I was drawing these out Cory looked at me and said "you know, normally kids are the ones drawing bunnies and colouring easter egg pictures" ha! Well, I'll always be a child at heart.
Here are two new cards available, I'm looking to make some cute birthday cards and other inspiration cards as well. :) Also, if you don't want these mailed I could have them for download as a PDF. Leave me a comment or email me if this interests you.

☺ Motivational Mondays! ☺

How was everyone's weekends? I hope they were splendidly exciting and fantabulous! Keep the good energy flowing into the week? Yes please! Who cares if it's Monday! Exciting stuff I tell you, let's set the tone for the week!

Think for yourself. Renew your mind and question your beliefs on a regular basis. Many of the thoughts we think are not actually our own. These thoughts are the insecure or fearful thoughts of others and of the world around us, projected upon us and absorbed without a second thought. These thoughts become a part of who we are as they are reinforced from the outside world continuously and consistently so that we don't even realize we are being hypnotized. But things aren't usually as they seem so it's good to question, everything! You know, keep that childlike questioning wonder. Don't allow yourself to be brainwashed by keep your mind active and questioning and learning to form your own thoughts and opinions.
Participate in Earth Hour… and go beyond it! March 31st is Earth Hour! Do your part for the global movement and turn off all the lights, power, and have one hour (that's all!!) of no electronics. Bust out board games, have a candlelit bath, take a walk under the starry night, plan a event with your friends! Have fun with it! See how long you can keep the lights out for! And remember to keep the kindness towards Earth going long beyond this one hour. :)
Plant Something!  Indoors that is. Indoor plants are great for cleaning the air around us and adding energy to our surroundings--especially if we spend a lot of time inside (like in Winter). Take extra care of your new plant and send it love--it will feel it, I promise. Bamboo or Reed Palm are great and easy to take care of (don't need too much watering), or English Ivy is another lovely option that is great for sucking up the chemicals in your home.
Complain less, be Thankful more! It's so easy to complain, and we do it far too readily. Whenever you're about to complain, catch yourself, and instead say something you're grateful for instead. Gratitude works much nicer with the Law of Attraction too and chances are people will enjoy your company that much more. ;)
Send yourself a letter in the mail! Write yourself a letter, filled with all the things you love about yourself, your life, and the things you are proud of. Write about how much you love life, about your positive journey and the strength you are finding along the way. Now mail it off so that you will not receive it back for some time. You'll be pleasantly surprised to find it in your mailbox one day and will serve as a lovely reminder of how beautiful your life is--manifest for it to return to you when you need it most.
Sit still! Or in other words, take a f*#king breather! ;) I'm not talking about "you" time--creative time doing things you enjoy--I'm talking about actually just being still. Literally, doing Nothing. Chill out, sit still, meditate, or take a bath, but whatever you do, do absolutely nothing. Be alone with your thoughts. This is truly important time that we do not take enough of. Be still for at least an hour, focussing on thoughts of love towards yourself and your life. Try to practice this at least once a week if not daily.
"Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile."

If anyone has any suggestions on how to send a letter to yourself without receiving it right away, I'd love to hear your thoughts! I'm still figuring out that one exactly. ;) Perhaps sending it to a friend or family member and telling them to mail it out some day.
Have a beautiful day, week, life! Much Love from me to you!
Create a Nice Day! xo

Ⓥ Vegan Kitchen: Cherry Yogurt Smoothie! Ⓥ

Another lovely smoothie recipe to add to the list! :) This is super delicious and creamy and, well, cherry-y.

Cherry Yogurt Smoothie
1 1/4 cup "Superfruit" Frozen fruit (cherries, blueberries, blackberries)
1/2 Banana
1 Cherry amande "yogurt" (170g or 3/4 cup)
1 tsp Maca Powder (optional)
1/2 cup water
1/2-3/4 cup Almond Milk
1/4 block Tofu (optional)
*This recipe is pretty easy to play with. You could easily omit the banana, tofu, or maca if you'd like, I just like to give my smoothies a protein boost with the tofu and super-food boost with the maca. If you omit the tofu or banana I would probably use a little more frozen fruit blend to make a bigger smoothie.

Blend all of the ingredients together in a blender or food processor until smooth. Start with 1/2 cup almond milk and add more or less depending how thick you want it.

Makes 1 large delicious smoothie. Enjoy!

☺ Happiness is Good for My Health ☺

"The organs weep the tears the eyes refuse to shed."

Burying emotions instead of letting them out, choosing not to speak up openly and honestly when something is on your mind, leaving issues unresolved… we have many ways in which we allow stress to build up in our lives and these are just a few common examples. We often underestimate the power of stress as a very damaging factor in our lives. But when we allow stress to build, when we stop paying attention to our needs and sanity, it eventually hits a breaking point.
Most of the physical symptoms we experience in our lives--like infections, aches, and pains--are merely symptoms of the emotions and problems we are storing up in our bodies.  Our bodies quite literally let out what our emotions refuse to in the form of sickness, trying to inform us we need to change things around and not allow more stress to build, or that we need to deal with unresolved issues. Just about any (if not all) human illnesses, sicknesses and problems are a direct result of this built up stress stored within us for an extended period of time. This stress comes from our lack of willingness to listen and to feel what we need to. Too often we just dismiss these signals, try to put a blanket over it with medicine, and do not acknowledge its source.
"Unexpressed emotion is stored in the muscles of the body" ~Wilhelm Reich.

Figure out what it is that is causing you stress in your life, the things about your life you are unhappy with, acknowledge them and then focus your energy and thoughts on the opposite outcome--the things that you Do want. Keep in mind how the Law of Attraction works and how to bring more positive things into your life by focussing on what you want instead of what you don't want. The more you dwell on not having certain things, the longer you will continue to not have those things. But absolutely work through the things that are causing you stress and figure out ways that those stresses will… well, no longer stress you out.
Let yourself feel the ups and downs of life, of your raw emotions. Don't inhibit your emotions, don't resist life, let them flow freely as they should. When you suppress these things is when your body will start trying to scream at you again to work through emotions instead of building more stresses.

The good news is that your health can be controlled by your choice to be Happy. Happiness truly is good for your health--it is the single best thing for your health! You can pop pills, take prescribed medication (which usually does more harm than good), even take medicinal herbs and remedies, eat well and exercise, but unless you do something about that stress then you could still end up being sick or experience those physical discomforts in your body. This will range depending on how much stress you have built up in your body and how long you've been stressed out for. But the good news is that you can choose to be in control of your stresses, just as you control your happiness, and therefor your health. You can always turn it around and heal yourself and your life simply by being Happy. Everything comes full circle, remember the inter-connectedness of the systems in our bodies. Choosing to properly take care of your mental self will heal, or maintain, your physical body's health.
Choosing to be Happy is good for your health!!
...Just in case you didn't get that. It is the single most important thing you need to remember to be physically healthy and keep that body working efficiently and happily. And choosing to be happy means taking the right steps to doing so. It means feeling your emotions and allowing those emotions to flow freely. It means taking appropriate action to resolve problems and conflicts, even if it may not always be easy. It means consciously Choosing to smile and to laugh and to do things you enjoy. It means being honest with your self and listening to your heart fully. It means doing what you need to do for your Self in order to maintain balance, serenity, and bliss. It means taking care of your Self instead of putting it on the back burner.

It starts with a decision to Be Happy, it continues by maintaining a positive attitude and atmosphere in your life, and learning to appropriately cope and deal with the lows and bumps that appear along the road--for there will always be bumps along the road. Our greatest tool in all of this is our ability to Choose for ourselves. Never underestimate the power of your choices and your will to be and act the way you want.
While I mentioned earlier that exercising regularly and eating well may not make a difference in your health if you're still stressing, they are still huge contributing factors in a healthy happy mind, so therefor will affect how easily you become stressed. Not to contradict myself, I'm promoting a healthy lifestyle, and trying to get across to you the importance of taking proper care of yourself, your Whole self and taking into account that everything within you is connected and important and requires your love and attention. Exercising keeps you physically in shape and provides the brain with oxygen and happy endorphins. Eating well helps to keep your digestive system working smoother, without giving it the stresses of trying to figure out how to digest unhealthy foods that can also negatively affect your brain.
And remember that the right thing for your personal sanity may not always feel like the easiest thing to do, especially when it feels like it may affect other people. But if we exhaust ourselves trying to help others then we have nothing left for ourselves and, again, that comes back full circle. Your own sanity must come first, and it is not selfish to do so. There is no point in allowing stress to build in your own life while trying to appease the life of another. Or you will end up being sick and need of help as well.
Understand that your Happiness matters! Understand that your happiness is necessary and valid and important. You are Allowed to be Happy. And that you can and have to Choose to be Happy in order to actually Be Happy.
Take time to take care of yourself. It is the single most important yet neglected key to true continuing happiness and health. Take time to nurture your soul. Take time to pay attention to your emotions, to detect and work through and eliminate stresses rather than sweep them aside. Be assertive in your needs and become comfortable with that assertion--know that it is necessary for your personal sanity. And know that your personal sanity and happiness are both important and necessary for your Self, relationships, health, body, and life. Everything comes full circle and if you are not attentive to your personal needs then those problems will come pouring out into other aspects of your relationships, interactions, health, and life.

Learn to deal appropriately with stress and deal with former trauma to release your body from unneeded physical discomfort. Ask your stresses what they have come to teach you; surrender and learn from them.
Make yourself Happy and your body will respond in the same manner.

♥ Go Max Go Foods Vegan Candy Bars! ♥

Vegan? Lactose intolerant? Miss mars bars and other favourite chocolatey treats? Well you don't need to! Look no further then Go Max Go Foods!

"We set out to create extraordinarily delicious candy bars. We craved candy bars that were chocolatey, nougaty, caramely, peanutty, almondy, coconutty crazy indulgences! We wanted a variety of bars that popped with all the luscious flavor of the traditional treats."

I briefly mentioned the Buccaneer bar in my VeganEssentials post a couple weeks ago and today I am so absolutely thrilled to share with you more goodness from this amazing company. If you love rich creamy milk chocolate (of course you do! Who doesn't love chocolate?!) but don't want the cruelty after-taste of regular candy bars found in stores then you will be delighted to know you don't have to miss out or sacrifice a thing! Seriously! Go Max Go Foods brings you indulgent treats without the guilt, food the way it should be; free of dairy, eggs, hydrogenated oils, trans fats, artificial ingredients, or cholesterol!

Go Max Candy bars are the perfect all-natural, dairy-free, & vegan versions of the old-time favourites you grew up with (or recently gave up to be blissfully vegan)! All of their candy bars are covered in their signature-recipe rice-milk chocolatey coating. Which I must agree is absolutely light and lovely, and will have you wondering why you ever bothered with dairy-milk chocolate anyway. You certainly won't be missing mars bars, reese peanut butter cups, bounty bars or any other candy bar for that matter!
But enough of that, here's some eye candy (ha!) of the wonderful candy bars I got to positively indulge myself in…

 Cleo's
I've had peanut-butter chocolate coated candy before, but this is the real deal, the true peanut butter cup flavour! I can't believe I haven't had these sooner! Imagine this; the creamiest dreamiest peanut butter filling ever, cuddled in luscious rice milk chocolate coating in two perfect sized cups that will have you dreaming for more! Trust me when I say you won't miss Reese peanut butter cups anymore!

Mahalo
A gently sweetened coconutty treat topped with three whole dry roasted almonds and covered with dreamy rice milk chocolate coating.

Snap!
Toasty, crunchy, crisped rice (Yum!) jammed into a hunk of rice-milk chocolatey "BAM"! Holy Candy Bar is right! This was definitely one of my favourites that I gobbled up faster than I meant to. ;)

Jokerz
Layers of dry roasted peanuts, buttery-tasting caramel, and a rich peanut nougat, sweetly wrapped in a delicious chocolatey coating! Can you say heaven?!

Bucaneer
Rich, fluffy, chocolatey nougat covered in a creamy chocolatey coating. Simple, delicious, far from boring… can I have more please?

Twilight
There aren't any twinkling vampires here, but there sure is a whole lot of magic! Take that lovely rich, fluffy, chocolatey nougat of the Buccaneer bar and top that with a layer of thick, buttery-tasting caramel all wrapped up in that heavenly creamy, rice-milk chocolatey coating. You'll quickly be on Team Go Max Go Foods! ;)

It's hard to pick a favourite when you have so many indulgent options to choose from. But the Cleo's, Snaps, and Twilight bars were definitely irrestible… then again, I ate all of these bars in… well I'm a little too embarrassed to share how quickly I gobbled them up… hey! It was for review purposes… to share with you… shhhhh…

One more thing I'd like to share is the story to their curious name, because if you are a regular ReLove Plan.et reader then you will appreciate it… The name "Max" is a tribute to their pound puppy who for sixteen years taught them "through action that life should be about big love, having fun at every opportunity, and not worrying about tripping when you're chasing after your dream." Beautiful no? :)

Really simply, these are the Best candy bars you will ever eat! Being vegan has never been easier, or tastier! You really don't have to miss out on any yummy treats when you have flavour packed with so much Pow and Wow! If you're fortunate enough to have any of these candy bars in a store near you, what are you waiting for? Run now and get one! ;) If you're not, order some! Thanks to online shopping it's never been easier to get your hands on just about anything your heart desires.

☺ Motivational Mondays! ☺

*Queue super happy music* it's MONDAY! Hoorah hoorah! Hopefully you all had a lovely weekend (and hopefully didn't get into too much trouble on St. Patty's day ;p). Greet this week with equal excitement you held for the weekend. Monday's can be exciting too! Don't believe me? Give it a try!

"Fear less; hope more.Eat less; chew more.Sigh less; breathe more.Hate less; love more, and all good things are yours." -- Swedish Proverb
Greet whatever comes with “unconditional friendliness… meaning your emotions. Let emotions flow freely through your mind and body without attachment or resentment. Allow sadness and stress to be felt and pass, and then welcome happiness and let that go too. Emotions are free flowing, so let them flow freely.
Scream & Shout and Let those emotions out!  Letting out pent up emotion is good for you! Don't resist it! Obviously, let it out when you are by yourself and not by lashing out at other people as this only serves to be counter-productive. Part of being human is having a wide variety of emotions. It's okay to feel angry or sad, what's not okay is to hold onto those emotions instead of releasing them.
Join "Billion Acts of Green"! Find and Pledge to do new things to help the planet! It's a fun way to get more involved and more conscious about things you can do in your life to be more green. :)
Do a Cleanse! It's that time of year when the seasons are changing, (tomorrow is the first day of spring! (my calendar says it's today though ;p)) and that's when it is a great idea to do a cleanse! Clean out your body, get re-energized, and start the spring off right! :)
Remember; You're Awesome!!! Whenever you start to feel down, insecure, uncertain, stressed, take a moment to stop and remind yourself how truly Awesome you are!
Send surprises in the mail! It's so exciting to get stuff in the mail, especially when it's unexpected!

Have a beautiful day, week, life! Much Love from me to you!
Create a Nice Day! xo

☆ Green Tip: Lessen your need to Recycle! ☆

Obviously, recycling is fantastic! But recycling is only half the battle and sometimes comes as an excuse to still buy over-packaged items, etc. We think to ourselves, well I can still Recycle this, so what's the harm? While, yes, the benefits of recycling are grand, it does still take a lot of energy to recycle items into new ones. Don't let the ability to recycle items be your excuse to not reduce your impact. Choose to reuse more than you buy new. For instance, you can sometimes recycle plastic grocery store bags but you should still bring your own canvas or tote bags instead as this is far more earth-friendly. You can often recycle cardboard food boxes but that doesn't mean you shouldn't bring your own reusable bags and buy in bulk--and you can still find another use for that cardboard box before recycling it as well.
Get creative and get savvy. Pay attention instead of just throwing something into the recycling. Pay attention to just how much you recycle and what you can do to reduce the number of things that need to be recycled.

Here are some tips to get started:
Use tote or canvas grocery bags instead of plastic.
Reuse cardboard boxes for packaging or for art projects.
Reuse paper to write notes on--or, again, for packaging or art projects.
Think before you print. Reduce how much paper you use.
Buy in Bulk! And bring your own reusable bags.
Buy products that are minimally packaged (when not buying in bulk).
Use your own stainless steel water bottle and never buy super wasteful plastic bottled water.

Just because we CAN recycle, doesn't mean we shouldn't still pay attention to our global footprint. Reduce and reuse before you automatically opt for recycling. :)

☺ Filling your Life with Unicorns! ☺

What we're really doing here is getting back to the basics of a four-year-old mindset. Why? Because the beauty of a child is the simple-mindedness, the light-heartedness, gratitude, easy fascination, eagerness, and endless perseverance. And everything in our lives should be as exciting as a room full of Unicorns.
We should keep our room (our lives) full of Unicorns (Positive, feel-good things-- Happiness!!!) at all times. Because that is all that really matters; the fun Happy things. We should appreciate and be grateful for all the Unicorns in all their various forms; some like to fly, some like to prance around; some are a bit prickly around the edges, others are fluffy and colourful; some are grumpy, others happy… you get the idea ;). These Unicorns represent all the things in our lives around us that could be Positive--even if their outward appearance may sometimes be unfamiliar or intimidating-- and all the opportunities and things that we could be using to enrich our lives and make them a happier place. Such as a room full of Unicorns and rainbows. ;)
The other problem that we have as adults is that we often fail to see the Unicorns. Our lives are often filled with Unicorns, boundless prancing magical things, but we fail to notice this. Well, let me tell you, a four-year-old would Not miss a room full of Unicorns, and neither should you! The second problem is that sometimes we see the Unicorns but don't do anything with them. We don't Use the Unicorns to our benefit, even when it is right in front of us. Well, again, a child would not just sit there facing a fluffy pink Unicorn and do nothing. By god, that child would run full force and wrap their little arms around that magical creature and give it a great big hug! That child would play all day with that Unicorn and love every second of it. So why don't we? Yes, sometimes new things (especially if it's a new looking Unicorn, maybe it's green instead of it's usual pink or white hue) can be intimidating. We aren't certain how to approach it, if it might nibble our fingers, if it's friendly, or what it has to offer. But we'll never know until we just go for it, uninhibited and eager. So be thankful for the Unicorns around us, use them when you see them, and enjoy every second.

If you're not keeping up with my outrageous metaphors, yes, I'm still talking about life. ;) Life has many opportunities right in front of our eyes but we don't take the leap and risk of just going for it. So the next time you are faced with an opportunity or thing that could be used to your benefit but feel intimidated, doubtful, or uncertain… picture a fluffy pink Unicorn (or whatever your favourite Unicorn might be) and think of yourself as an eager child grateful for that fluffy Unicorn.

Really, the Unicorn symbolizes so much more than I can put into words. It's the magic in our lives. It's the childish fascination with the world. It's the joys and the smiles. It's the opportunities and gains. It's excitement and adventure. It's the part of us we leave behind. It's the part of us that we get to rediscover to enrich our lives.
So choose to have, to see, and to be grateful for all the Unicorns in your life. Always. And keep your life full of Unicorns!

♥ What's in my Closet? Tootpaste! ♥

Since it was asked a few times and recently answered in my Q&A Vegan Video post, I thought I would share right here on the blog as well as I like to keep my "In My Closet" product posts easily available and up-to-date. xo

So, what toothpaste does this vegan gal, keeping in mind products that are chemical-free and good for the earth, use?
Seafresh Toothpaste by Jason! :)

It's been a good many years since I've used any chemical, fluoride-laden toothpastes so it's hard for me to compare flavours, however I do like this one. I find the taste mild and a little minty which I like. I'd also have to say that it works well. Why? Well, I've been using this toothpaste for… hmm… around 8 years. I admittedly don't go to the dentist very often (because we don't have benefits so it's pricey, and because I don't like all the chemicals), but I went a little while ago (after having not gone for several years) and my teeth were perfect. No cavities, no problems, no pains. Of course, my diet probably can contribute to this as well, however I still think it's a good toothpaste. And at least I'm not accidentally swallowing chemicals or having chemical residue left behind in my mouth when I brush. ;)
