Feeling low? Moody? Down on life? Well, that's what these posts are for! Time to feel awesome again and get some Positivity rolling! Just because it's Monday doesn't mean you can't have fun, smile, and enjoy Today! Apply these tips to your week and try to tell me that you don't start to see an improvement in your life! ;)
It's all about You! Change your perception, change your attitude, love your life! xo



Law of Attraction Tip: We think negative thoughts sometimes, it's just the way we are, however negative thoughts can be reversed instead of attracting negative things into your life from those thoughts. Time serves you well for this reason. You can erase any previous negative thoughts by replacing them with new positive thoughts. You can change your frequency at any moment and start bringing good things to your life! 
Get Excited! Get excited about today! About this moment right now! About Life! Think about how many times in a day someone will ask you "how are you?" Now how often do we automatically reply without much thought. Let this question be a trigger for you to stop and really think and, no matter what it is you might have been feeling before, start to feel excitement and happiness in that moment. You Should feel excited about life, no matter what is going on, so switch your mindset to excitement, the rest of your day and life will transform. So, How are you? ;)   
Get Outside; take a Media Break! I mentioned last week how easy it is to withdraw in the winter and shut off from the fun of the outside world, so make yourself get back out there, rain, shine, or snow. If you have kids, get them outside too, it doesn't serve them to be glued to screens all day. And have fun with it! Fresh air and direct sunlight (even if it's behind the clouds) is good for you, and since media has the reverse effect, cut that out as much as possible. Don't become a zombie slob stuck in front of the TV or computer, get out there and LIVE!  
Take on a fun Art Project! Okay, so while I encourage you to still take time to get outside, let's face it; most of your time is still going to be spent inside where it's warm. So, if you're going to be inside then make use of it--again instead of getting stuck before screens in the media world. Take on an art project! Something new and exciting for you to learn and have fun with it. Expand your mind and your creativity! Make better use of your inside time!
Talk about your Joys! Sometimes it feels good to vent, and it's good to talk about and through things. However, when most of what you are talking about is your problems and complaints then you are only going to keep attracting more things to complain about into your life. As humans, it's our biggest habit, and it's a negative one. If you want your life to be more joyful then spend more time talking about your joys instead. After all, when we actually take a moment there is an awful lot of joys.  
Let it Go & Go with the Flow! Release attachment to thought and the Mind. If things are bumpy, if things aren't quite the way you want them, just let it go. Feeling down? Let it Go. Stuck in a line up? Let it Go. Someone getting on your nerves? Let it Go. We can learn a lot from letting go. 
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” ~ R. Buckminster Fuller. Just as equally important as letting things go, learn to go with the flow. Whatever comes your way, utilize it, don't resist life. Allow events and things to bend and flow, just go with it and let it go. When we can learn to go with the current you'll soon find a purpose for everything and life becomes a smooth joyful ride. So stop resisting things in life, work With things instead of Against them.

☺ Life Lessons from Winnie the Pooh ☺



In case you didn't know, I absolutely love love the book "The Tao of Pooh" it's brilliant, I wrote up a review about it already so I won't bother to repeat myself other than to say it's brilliant. What I love so much is realizing how much a simple character has to teach that most of us completely overlook. Pooh Bear just Is. He doesn't overanalyze, he doesn't make a mess of things that don't need to be a made a mess of. He doesn't do much yet things that need to get done always get done. When there is a problem he always finds a solution by using what Is and not, again, over-thinking things. He may not be the brightest, but he loves life and is a happy bear. He doesn't try to put a name to everything like "thinkers" do, he just appreciates things As They Are. This little bear know how to live life with the upmost joy. 
In case you can't tell, I love this book. ;) And I highly recommend reading it.
Anyways, today's post is to show my appreciation for this character that we can learn so much from and to share some little bits and pieces for your daily inspiration and dose of positivity. ;)

Do a Self Cleanse! It's that time of year when the days are shorter, the weather is colder, and most of what we want to do is stay inside and seclude ourselves. Remember that social activity stimulates us and is needed for happiness so try not to completely withdraw into hibernation. ;) However, this is also a great time to do what I call a "Self Cleanse," meaning take all that time you want to spend all warm and cozy inside to work on your Self, your Happiness, your State of Mind. It is a great opportunity to truly work on yourself and is truly needed at this time of year. Just because it's winter and cold doesn't mean you should get all sad and withdraw. Instead of sulking and getting in a negative mindset, work on positivity. (I'll be posting more about this later this week ;)).
Enjoy the little things! Life isn't about getting exactly what you want all the time, it's about making the most of what you have. Part of this is learning to appreciate all the little things around you. The more you appreciate, the more you will fall in love with all the beauty life has to offer. So appreciate and Notice the small things and realize that all these small things make up a much bigger brighter picture. :) 
Treat Yourself with Love and Respect… and you'll attract other people who will treat you with love and respect. 
Stop Caring what Others Think… And just Act the way you want and Be the person you want to be. It doesn't matter what others think of you, it only matters what you think. Be yourself and you'll attract like-minded people. Stop conforming to others and you'll start living the life you're meant to.
Get out of the Boat! Stop resisting the current by paddling your boat in every which direction but the right one. You may feel as if you are getting somewhere but if you just get out of the boat and allow life's current to take you with it then you'll get to where you are Supposed to go, instead of where you Think you are supposed to. Resisting life makes it a struggle, when we go with the flow things tend to get done quicker and smoother and life is more enjoyable. So get out of the boat!  
Get up and Try Again! It doesn't matter how many times you fall, there is always a choice to climb back up. All of those people who succeeded, in whatever aspect in life it may be, got there by climbing back up again. So never give up and keep trying! 
"The mind that is anxious about future events is miserable." ~ Seneca. We spend entirely too much time worrying about the future, imagining all the things that could go wrong instead of using our imagination to keep a positive outlook in sight. Always focus on the positive when your mind wanders to the future, but your main goal is to stay grounded in the present moment, to enjoy the present moment, for stress and worry cannot be in the present when you are truly enjoying where you are and making the most of it.


Now go ahead and have the best damn week ever! And remember that just because it's Monday doesn't mean you have to by mopey, make the most of every single day and moment!

Ⓥ Peanut Pumpkin Thai Curry Ⓥ




I've only made this once but I thought it was good enough to share immediately. ;) Next time I make it I'll try to make the measurements better for a larger serving instead of a single, but it's great if you have bits and pieces and are making dinner for one. Super easy, quick, creamy and delicious! An explosion of flavours to tantalize your tastebuds! 

Peanut Pumpkin Thai Curry

1 tsp Red Curry Paste
1/2 cup Pumpkin Puree 
1 Tbsp Peanut Butter
1/2 cup Coconut Milk Beverage (not the canned stuff)
1/4 block firm Tofu, cubed 
1 Tbsp Tamari
1/4 cup Vegetable Stock
1/4 tsp Ginger, ground 
1/4 tsp Cumin, ground
Black Pepper to taste
Cauliflower, Broccoli, spinach, or any other veggies you want to add


In a medium sauce pan, sauté the tofu in the tamari, curry, and spices until it browns a bit. Add the remaining ingredients, minus the vegetables, and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the veggies and cook another 5-10 minutes or until the veggies are tender. Slowly add the coconut milk, and add more or less to get your desired consistency. 
Serve over rice or quinoa. 
Makes 1 large serving or two small servings.

It's Time to Be Happy Again! And time for me to be repetitive. ;) Happiness is something you Choose to Be. I am going to repeat it over and over until it sinks in, because it is absolutely vital that you learn this. You cannot chase happiness, you have to choose to Be Happy. There is such beauty and freedom in this, and there should be a hell of a lot of hope, because anyone and everyone can be happy with the right attitude and the right steps and changes in their lives. So, take charge. No matter what point you're at in your life, right this second tell yourself; It's Time to Be Happy Again! 
Have Courage! Many of us struggle with life, especially when we really wake up and feel that something is missing or that our lives aren't what we had imagined them to be. Things get better, I promise. But if you want an amazing life then you have to have the courage and passion to make changes, to work on yourself and to make that climb to the top. It may feel pretty rocky at first but every day gets better. And no matter how hard it may feel, you're still ahead of those that aren't trying. So have courage and keep climbing no matter how many times you fall.
Get in your 8 Hugs! I remember hearing and reading about this several times; you need eight hugs a day to maintain your level of happiness. Hugs are so fantastic, healing, nurturing, loving, caring. They are the BEST! So get in your eight hugs a day! And not those half-assed hugs, those really close, warm, heart-to-heart hugs that you don't want to let go. A Reaaaal Hug! Watch your happiness shine and your heart grow! :)  
Learn from Winnie the Pooh! Whaaaaat???? Pooh Bear should be an inspiration to all, he knows how to go with the flow and how to enjoy all the little things. He knows how to solve problems effortlessly by just Doing instead of over thinking. He knows how to be there for others, to love, and to care. He is simple-minded but full of heart, not looking to overanalyze everything or to complicate things with our obsessive minds. He appreciates things as they are. He's not trying to be smarter than he is or anything that he is not. Pooh Bear just Is. And he is Happy. So take a lesson from Winnie the Pooh. ;) 
Channel that Energy! Take all that negative energy and channel it instead towards achieving something positive. You'd be amazed at what you can do with all that energy that is wasted on negative thinking! Positive thinking will transform your life! 
Be Free as a Child! Run around and have fun! Make a point to take a day, or time out of each and every day, to play, be free, be silly and have fun! Do the things that make you smile and laugh! Dance, skip, jump for joy, play on a swing, run around, sing, play play play! Find your bliss and enjoy it! Life is a game meant to be enjoyed and laughed through!

It doesn't matter what life brings to you, you can still be completely in love with life and live it to the fullest so long as you have the right attitude. So keep loving, keep being all that you can be, and keep making the most of everything! Keep that Positive Mental Attitude going at all times, through the highs and lows.

♥ Pretty You and Me; Handmade Jewelry and Art! ♥



I'm super excited to share this new shop filled with gorgeous handmade jewelry and art! 
Pretty You and Me is run by the lovely Sarah DiTocco, a girl I absolutely adore for her spunky attitude and pure loveliness. She's a doll and I know you'll love her too! But, unfortunately, she's not for sale ;) but her amazing one of a kind artwork is! While her new shop is brand spankin' new, Pretty You and Me began some time ago, beginning with Sarah's own creations for herself and receiving compliments and requests from others to produce more, which turned to her jewelry and art becoming available through Facebook with success. The new store front certainly adds to the buyer experience. The site is easy to navigate and fun to look through. All of her jewelry is handmade, original, and most are one of a kind--which is always fun! 
Okay, so the store isn't completely vegan, however, Sarah herself is in transition (yayy!) and a ton of her jewelry is (double yayy!). The jewelry line is fun, a little bit gothic, a little bit dainty, pretty and elegant, a little bit punk and rock, a lil steampunk, and a fabulous mismatch of her amazing style. I just love her style, from long laces earrings that have the elegant resemblance of feathers, to the skulls that adorn various bracelets and earrings, to the cute fabric rings, all the little embellishments that complete the pieces. Words truly can't describer the amazing work available in the shop, so you'll just have to take a look for yourself. ;) With a fantastic eye for art and making perfect pieces, anything from earrings, to bangles, to necklaces, to rings, and even bags, there is something in the shop for everyone! 


And the whimsical creativity doesn't end with the jewelry, Pretty You and Me also makes some hella awesome canvas art with lyrics from songs and quotes. The art is put together so wonderfully, again with that fantastic eye for creating complimentary pieces. I'm lucky to own one of her pieces myself and I absolutely love it. 
Sarah has even gone a step further and her fantastic canvas art is also now available on magnets and cards! Super exciting!


Handmade with care and love and quality, there is no missing in the attention to details, all of Sarah's work is fantastic!

☺ Birthday Wish 2012! ☺


It's that time of year again, almost my birthday, which means I've got my Birthday Wish rolling on Facebook's causes. :) 



This year I'm fundraising money for Animal Farm Sanctuary again because this place pulls on my heart strings. :)





Farm Sanctuary is one of the animal sanctuaries I got to visit when I was in New York last year and it was such a wonderful experience! Getting to see all the good they do for animals, giving them second chances at life and happiness. It's just indescribable. I still say it's a place that everyone needs to go to at least once in their lives. 


So please give what you can (I've already got the ball rolling and donated--and it's My birthday haha ;p). This is my birthday wish :) Although if you also want to send me cards in the mail that would also totally make my special day extra special. ;)

How are you feeling? Pay attention to how you are feeling, this will always be a good indicator about what you are Thinking, and therefor about what you are attracting into your life. If you look inward and notice that you are not feeling so great then work on switching your mood, do whatever it takes to make yourself Feel Good, and then you'll watch your day and life change. :)
Acknowledge that you are Amazing! We all need to spend more time acknowledging that we are amazing. Because we are. And when we live in a society that tries to tear down at our self-esteem on a daily basis, it's important to counter that with thoughts of love. You are amazing, we are all amazing. Give yourself and others compliments.
Make Friends! When you encounter a stranger, stop thinking of them as a stranger, but as another soul for you to befriend, learn from, and connect with. 
Love More, Judge Less. Judging is terrible, I wrote an article about it before that is worth reading or a re-read. When we judge others it's really just a reflection of our own insecurities, so it's a good thing to pay attention to; you'll learn something about yourself. Ask, why do you feel the need to judge this person? What problem do you have with yourself and/or your life that is causing you to do this? Love is the best and only answer to a positive life. If you want to be happy then start by expressing more love and quitting the bad habit of judging others. 
Remember remember the 5th of November… and watch "V for Vendetta" cuz it's a hella awesome movie, and because it's always a good nudge in the brain cells to stick up for our rights and responsibilities to action as people instead of allowing our governments to corrupt and control everything. ;) 
Stop worrying about the Future! Truth is, nobody ever really knows what the future holds. How many times have you envisioned and worried about something that had not happened yet? How many times did things actually go the way you worried about? Sometimes yes, because the Law of Attraction picks up on those negative thoughts, but on the flip side, life can be unpredictable and we can never truly know what is actually going to happen. Remember that everything happens for a reason, so there's no point in fretting over things. We can't predict the future and it's a waste of your energy to get stressed about it. Go with the flow and enjoy the ride, accept whatever life hands you and make the best of it. And stay in the moment, the Now. ;)

Ⓥ Coconut Lentil Pumpkin Gumbo Curry Ⓥ



There are so many wonderful things you can do with pumpkins! So put them to good use far after halloween! 
This recipe is thanks to my sister for this lovely creation! I finally got around to making this myself, with a few changes since my sister makes awesome food but doesn't tend to write down exact recipes for her creations. ;)
This is delicious and needs to be tried! Healthy, satisfying, oh so goooood! :)

Coconut Lentil Pumpkin Gumbo Curry

Olive Oil
2 tsp Red Curry Paste
2 tsp Yellow Curry Paste
2 medium-large Carrots, diced
1-2 Sweet Potatoes, chopped (or regular potatoes or yams)
2 cups Red Lentils
1 large can, or 2 small cans Pumpkin Puree (or half a large home-grown pumpkin)
1 can Coconut Milk
Kale, Swiss chard, broccoli, or any other veggies you want to add
1 Tbsp Tamari
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Black Pepper 
1/2 tsp Cumin, ground
1/2 tsp Curry powder
touch of water, to thin it down


In a large sauce pan, sauté the carrots and potatoes in a bit of oil with the red and yellow curry paste. After a few minutes, add in the lentils, rest of the spices, tamari, and enough water to fill over the lentils and veggies--and to allow cooking reduction space. Let simmer on medium heat, stirring occasionally, adding more water if needed. 
Once the lentils are almost cooked, add in the pumpkin and the rest of your ingredients and continue cooking until all the veggies are cooked. 
Add more or less water to get your desired consistency. 
Serve over rice and enjoy! 
Makes a huuuuge batch! About 6 large servings.
