☺ Motivational Mondays! ☺

. . . . . . . . . .

We're taking back Mondays!!!
"Motivational Mondays" are fabulous tips to get you excited and pumped for the week!
Feeling low? Moody? Down on life? Well, that's what these posts are for! Time to feel awesome again and get some Positivity rolling! Just because it's Monday doesn't mean you can't have fun, smile, and enjoy Today! Apply these tips to your week and try to tell me that you don't start to see an improvement in your life! ;)
It's all about You! Change your perception, change your attitude, love your life! xo

. . . . . . . . . .

Law of Attraction Tip: When things feel like they are constantly going wrong, this is an opportunity (and rather blunt slap in the face) that you are off track and it's time to make some changes in your thoughts. Everything around you is created by your thoughts and your outlook. Switch your Outlook, and you can see the positive. Switch your Thoughts and you can Create better things around you.
Believe in Miracles! No matter what the odds are in life, know that All Things are Possible! I have heard some pretty amazing miracles from people I know, and even more from people all over the world. If ever you doubt, just remember stories like Morris Goodman; he lay in a hospital bed completely paralyzed and was told he would never walk again. Against the odds, Morris believed he could do it and he did; he walked again and he was able to live a normal life. There are stories like this all around you, so never stop believing in miracles!
Send out Love and Miracles to those who have given up. One of the greatest things you can do for others that are having a hard time is to be their light for them. If they have given up on miracles, on possibilities, then be that energy for them. The Universal Law is a powerful thing, and the power of love is its most powerful key. Pour out love to others, and ask the Universe for miracles for them. Be their creator and be their light in darkness.
Never Stop Trying! Like can be difficult at times, or a lot of the time, or sometimes it can be downright awful. In the face of all this, never stop trying. A breakthrough is just around the bend! If something doesn't work, try something else; and if that doesn't work, try yet another, and keep trying until you receive your breakthrough. Believe, believe, believe, and never stop loving yourself in the process.
Empower Yourself! Remember to lift yourself up on a daily basis. Remember to say "I Can!" and remember to stand up in the face of all odds that may be against you. Self-empowerment means accepting responsibility over your life, by taking the reins and steering in the direction you choose. Never stop believing in your own self worth, and have the courage to dream big and be all that you want to be! Remember: you are an all powerful being, you are a Creator, so validate your Self and validate your Dreams.
Don't Choose Blame.  It is quite easy for many to take responsibility in the wrong way. Taking responsibility of your life doesn't mean Blaming yourself, or feeling badly for your mistakes. Taking Responsibility simply means accepting that you are human, that you made mistakes (like everyone else), but that you are choosing to be aware, humble, and loving anyways. It means you choose to shape the life ahead of you instead of allowing yourself to feel powerless. So, be aware and don't take the blame route when taking responsibility of your life; in the end, we are all just human beings trying our best, and there's no shame or blame in any of that.
“It wasn't only wickedness and scheming that made people unhappy, it was confusion and misunderstanding; above all, it was the failure to grasp the simple truth that other people are as real as you.” ~ Ian McEwan, Atonement. This may be one of my favourite quotes, because it is a great reminder that everyone is fighting their own battles, battles you could not even begin to fathom. So, do not judge, do not be mean, do not assume. Be loving, understanding (even if you don't understand), respectful, and keep your heart open.

(this will never stop inspiring me. Brings me to tears every time!)

Create a great beautiful wonderful magical day! And don't forget to claim your Miracles!
Much love from me to you!

Accepting responsibility over your emotional state and your past doesn't mean blaming yourself, it means empowering yourself to change and grow. Focus your mind on love, especially in unfavourable/negative situations; it will make for magical outcomes. Be Grateful for Everything. ☀

♥ Compassion Company: Vegan Apparel ♥

Organic   •  USA Made  • Vegan Apparel

For obvious reasons, I love supporting all the many amazing Vegan companies out there. I especially love supporting products that have the eco-conscious mentality. So, who couldn't fall in love with Compassion Company?
Compassion Company is Vegan owned and operated, and provides some awesome shirts (and other products) where vegans can parade their awesome beliefs and lifestyles to the world. This company states that they believe the best to affect social change is to lead by setting a positive example. I couldn't agree more! All of their designs are hand drawn art that you won't find anywhere else. All of their shirts are also made from super soft recycled or organic cotton and are printed with water based and discharge inks to minimize their environmental impact, while also providing some ultra comfy shirts. The shirts are also sweatshop free, assembled by workers in South Carolina that are treated with respect and provided with benefits such as health, dental, paid vacations and more. Because what's the point of only focussing on animal welfare if you neglect human welfare as well?
On top of all that ethical awesomeness, 5% of every sale is also donated to an organization, that changes every three months, that promotes animal rights and a cruelty free lifestyle.

I have one of Compasson Company's "Anything you can eat, I can eat vegan" shirts and I just love it. The fabrics are super soft and get softer with every wash, as well as the printed image. The fit of their apparel is also comfy and flattering, the fabrics are super lovely soft, and are just how I love my t-shirts (which is strangely hard to find these days with so many boxy unflattering tees floating around). The messages that this company displays are simply awesome and empowering, spreading veganism in a positive and fun way. As well as shirts, you can also find pins and stickers with their awesome slogans and designs to spread your vegan superpowers!
The staff are also super friendly, helpful, and wonderful to talk to. Overall, this company simply Rocks--all the way around!

A Slap in the Face: A Reminder of Happiness

Who is familiar with that moment when a certain realization attempts to slap you across the face? While I've had many moments like this, one in particular struck me again recently. In being honest, this little funk I've been in has been a rather tedious and lingering ordeal, one which I have been struggling with daily. Some days I feel like I must be bipolar: sparking from happiness to anger to tears in a matter of fleeting moments. One couldn't guess when the tempest would strike next. But then, I remember that I am cleansing, and that finally (several years later) all the excess estrogen has been attempting to leave my body after five years of being on the birth control pill. I also remember that the emotional roller coaster has been doing a few maniacal twists as of late--probably to keep me on my feet ;). And so, life simply has its funks and it is best not to beat oneself up over such things. We are, after all, all human, and happiness doesn't always come so easily.
And then I was slapped across the face. I don't remember how it happened, what prompted it, or why exactly in that moment it sprang up from that inner part of my mind to give me a good talking to, but it did. That slap reminded me that my happiness depends on Me, and Me alone. I am in control of my own life, I am responsible for my own state of mind. Sure, it's not always a cake walk, and sometimes things really test your ability to simply "be positive". I mean really test you. For instance, every time over the past little while that I have had a moment of absolute happy bliss, it seems to be snatched out from under me like some cruel joke. I blame everything outside of myself for that bliss being snatched away from me. Because it's easy to pass the blame, especially when one is struggling with their own inner demons within life. But then there's that slap. That slap that reminds me that I am responsible for my own happiness. In seeing this, I have to remember--and I mean really drill it into my mind again--that I not the circumstances, people, or events around me can take my smile away. Sure, things will test you (and, again, sometimes really test you) but in the end, You are still responsible for allowing these things to ruin your day--and your life. It's a harsh reality at times, especially if we are caught in a state of helplessness within our own deteriorating self-appreciation. It's like one more thing to taunt us, to tell us we're not good enough because we can't Just Be Happy. Oh cruel world! But, when being honest, and if we can really take a step back then we can also realize that this mentality only further traps us into the web of self-helplessness and the "poor me" attitude that spirals so easily out of control. Because we refuse to accept that We are in control--at least, we Can be.
Again, I'm not saying it's an easy walk in the park. Sometimes it is, most certainly, but other times it really feels like you have to fight tooth and nail to climb back to the top of the happiness ladder. And once we are at the top for a few fleeting moments, sometimes the foundation is still weak and so we topple quite easily down again. And this is another cycle that is so easy to start feeling helpless in, to start beating yourself up for, or cursing life for being so cruel. It's the self-perpetuating cycle of self-rejection, of self-loathing, or lack of self-appreciation. This is why I still hold strong to the belief system that happiness must must must start with You. Once you start feeling Good about YourSelf, then you can start to stabilize your ladder to happiness and the journey, while still bumpy, can be much easier and more manageable.
Life truly Is a beautiful, wondrous gift, and to see it as a cruel place there to tear us down or laugh at us doesn't serve you. Life is not cruel, only our mentalities towards it are. These mentalities are built over time, burdened by life events and tribulations to solidify the feeling; but all the beauty in life can also serve as your tools to change your perspective. Once the perspective starts its building then the path to happiness can truly be paved. And that path is most easily paved by gratitude: gratitude for the small things, the big things, the people around you, the events around you, the material things, the weather, a roof over your head, anything and everything, but most importantly, gratitude for Your Self.

So, allow a little slap to cross your face every so often. Let the lessons remind you to have the courage to empower yourself, to remind yourself that You Are Strong enough to overcome anything. Put yourself in control, truly and fully empower yourself and replace any negative thoughts with the words "I Can!". Love Yourself. Encourage yourself. Remind yourself that you Deserve to be happy, that you Deserve Good Things. Healing takes time, but more than that, healing takes Persistence. Do what you must for yourself every single day, by doing this you can move yourself away from the "poor me" helpless mentality and start to write a beautiful life for yourself once more.

Much Love and all the Happiness in the world to you and your beautiful sparking soul!
xo

❀ The Good News ❀

. . . . . . . . . .
Stop watching the News on T.V. filled with lies, propaganda, and made to make you feel helpless and afraid.

With all the negative news in the world, it's time to give you hope and inspiration. It's time to the weekly Good News!
. . . . . . . . . .

Care2 Reaches 25 Million!
Care2 and the Petitionsite are such amazing places to be making a difference in the world, and they have reached 25 Million members! That's 25 Million people making a difference in the world! If that isn't good news, I don't know what is!

Cages, crates, cruelty, BANNED in Australia's New ACT!
The ACT has become the first Australian jurisdiction to prohibit by law some of the worst horrors inflicted on animals in factory farms. A company in the ACT can be fined up to $35,000 for locking a pig in a crate or a hen in a cage.
This landmark legislation is a welcome reminder that with consistent and strategic campaigning we can change laws to improve the lives of animals.

Success! Canada Bans Gestation Crates For Pigs
Thanks to 37,000 Care2 members taking action, the more than one million pregnant pigs on Canadian farms will not have to spend their lives confined in a space so small they can’t even turn around. A Care2 petition demanded an urgent response to help mother pigs — and Canada’s National Farm Animal Care Council and the Canadian Pork Council have created new regulations that ban the continuous confinement of sows in newly built and rebuilt facilities.

Victory! Venue Cancels Nosey the Elephant Rides
Thanks to the support of many, a long-suffering elephant named Nosey has been spared a grueling weekend giving rides at the Oak Haven Farms & Winery in Sorrento, Florida. In response to our alert asking supporters to urge the Winery to cancel plans to use Nosey this past weekend, activists flooded the Winery with emails, calls, and posts on Facebook.
Hugo Liebel, Nosey's exhibitor, is currently under investigation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for alleged violations of the Animal Welfare Act following numerous complaints submitted by IDA and others. The USDA fined Liebel in 2013 as a result of earlier charges claiming more than 30 welfare violations, including failure to provide adequate veterinary care and to handle Nosey safely in public.
IDA will continue to push for the end of Nosey’s exploitation at the hands of an exhibitor who flagrantly ignores federal law at the expense of this beleaguered elephant and the public. For more information on how you can help elephants held in captivity, please visit our What You Can Do page

WWF gaining momentum for Virunga and its wildlife!‏
The fight to stop oil exploration in and around Virunga National Park—home to more than half of the world's endangered mountain gorillas—is gaining considerable momentum, giving hope that the Africa equivalent of North America's Yellowstone will become protected.
In this month alone:
  • WWF surpassed 650,000 signatures on their petition demanding oil giant Soco International's immediate retreat from Virunga.
  • An international agency, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, has accepted WWF's complaint that highlights allegations of lack of transparency and human rights violations related to Soco's operations in Virunga.
  • French oil company Total SA, which has an oil concession overlapping Virunga, publicly committed to keeping out of all natural World Heritage Sites.
Help keep the momentum going!

Home Depot is listening - Bee Protection Hopefully Ahead!
Good news – after receiving hundreds of thousands of emails, printed letters and a whole lot of visits from YOU and other activists across the country urging Home Depot to stop selling bee-killing pesticides, Home Depot listened!
SaveOurEnvironment.org's coalition is now in dialogue with the retail giant and they are working on a policy on neonics. This is a good step in the right direction, making things hopeful that Home Depot will be a leader in bee protection moving forward.

Wildlife Win in Court
Of 345 species at risk in Canada, more than 160 have waited far too long for recovery strategies. Thanks to a recent federal court decision, four luckier ones are finally getting overdue plans detailing steps needed to save and protect them, including identifying habitat they need to survive. But to make it happen, environmental groups including the David Suzuki Foundation, with the help of Ecojustice lawyers, had to take the federal government to court. It wasn't the first time they've gone to court to protect wildlife.
In what the judge called "the tip of the iceberg", the court found an enormous systemic problem in the two ministries responsible for protecting endangered and threatened wildlife. Both the environment and fisheries ministers broke the law for the species in question by allowing multi-year delays in meeting deadlines required under the Species at Risk Act.
This legal win is good news for Pacific humpback whales, marbled murrelets, Nechako white sturgeon and southern mountain caribou.

Victory! Cleaner gas & cleaner cars‏
Thanks in part to the hundreds of thousands of comments from Save Our Environment activists and others in their coalition, the EPA has announced new clean gasoline and tailpipe pollution standards.
These new standards will help us all breathe easier, prevent thousands of asthma attacks, cut dangerous pollution, save up to $19 billion in health costs per year, and put the U.S. back on track with global efforts to reduce sulfur in gasoline, cutting the sulfur in our gas by two-thirds!

A Program For Crowdfunding Home Solar Launches in Connecticut
Earlier this month, Mosaic joined together with The Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority (CEFIA), Connecticut’s green bank and Sungage Financial, a platform that enables homeowners to efficiently apply, qualify and contract for solar financing, to offer homeowners crowdsourced loans for solar installations.
Mosaic is a pioneer in the world of solar energy, even though they have nothing to do with developing solar technology. Leaving design up to the scientists and engineers, this California-based B-Corp is instead focused on the financial part of solar: inventing new ways for people to invest in and install solar installations in their own communities.

Hundred of Students Create “Human Oil Spill” at White House to Protest Keystone XL Pipeline
I so love hearing about the creative ways young activists use to spread a message and make a point. Here is another great story of just that! And it is always inspiring to hear people standing up for what they know is right!
Anyone who says that today’s youth are apathetic about politics simply needs to look at the nearly 1000 students who protested in Washington D.C. on Sunday against the continuing plans for building the Keystone XL Pipeline.
According to CNN, nearly 1,000 students marched from Georgetown to Secretary of State John Kerry’s home in D.C., where they then formed a “human oil spill” by placing black tarps on the ground and lying on them outside his house. They then continued to Lafayette Square, and approximately one third of the march proceeded to the White House, where they created another “oil spill,” while part of the group separated from the others and zip-tied their hands to the fence surrounding the White House grounds.

Newly-Introduced Energy Efficiency Bill Is a Necessary First Step
Last week, U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Rob Portman (R-OH) introduced the Energy Savings and Industrial Competitiveness Act with a bipartisan group of co-sponsors. The bill would spur the use of energy efficiency technologies in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors of the U.S. economy. Among its many provisions, the legislation would strengthen the Department of Energy’s role in fostering technical support and supply-side energy efficiencies in the manufacturing sector.
The Shaheen-Portman efficiency bill is an important step in not only making American businesses more competitive, but also saving consumers money and creating jobs. According to a recent study by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, the bill has the potential to save American consumers $14 billion and to support the creation of 172,000 jobs by 2030.

Kroger and Safeway Refuse to Sell GMO Salmon, No Matter What FDA Decides
While the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is still busy working on approval for genetically modified salmon, another two store chains put their names on the list of places that will refuse to sell it. Kroger and Safeway, the largest retail grocery companies in the United States, have made the commitment to keep GMO salmon off of their shelves, a commitment being made by more than 9,000 stores nationwide.

Celebrate! Texas Gay Marriage Ban Overturned by Federal Court
A federal judge this week ruled that Texas’ ban on marriage equality violates the United States Constitution. While the decision is stayed, LGBT rights activists are celebrating the ruling as a major victory.
U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia issued an opinion on Wednesday, February 22, that Texas state’s refusal to recognize same-sex marriages and its refusal to recognize same-sex marriages from out-of-state violates the Constitutional rights of same-sex couples.

7 Women Who Have Inspired Us in Honor of International Women’s Day
March 8 marked the 106th annual International Women’s Day, a wonderful opportunity to applaud some amazing accomplishments, successes and triumphs, all a testament to the incredible progress women are making right now. In honour of this, Care2 applauded seven of the women who have made major strides over the past year and who can inspire all of us.

Meet the Tanzanian Woman Who Said No to a Forced Marriage
Here is another beautiful and empowering story from a woman who said no to a forced marriage. These are the sort of stories that pave new futures for generations of women to come.

Say something nice to someone everyday. This little tip is from a friend of mine who posted this this morning on Facebook and I had to pass it along, because it's a lovely reminder!… If you think they are amazing, sweet, beautiful, Strong, courageous, talented, gifted, lovely, handsome, fabulous etc., let them know. :)
Everything is what You Make It!  It still amazes me the difference perspective makes. I can watch one person see everything negatively, and I can see someone else in the exact same circumstance or situation see everything positively. Life is too short to be negative all the time, so do your best to see the good in everything around you. And remember, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!
Support One Another! This tip I feel is particularly for women, but I have no doubt that in today's world men struggle with the same feeling of separation. People are constantly putting one another down, finding something awful to say about one another, and it's just all around badness: alienating yourself from others while alienation the people you put down as well. Make a shift towards love and support. Be there for one another! Support and encourage one another! Lift the people around you up!
Start a Food and Health Diary. Feeling a lack of health is never fun, but there are things you can do to head in the right direction. A food/health diary can help you pinpoint the things you might be allergic or sensitive to. Once you can pinpoint these things you can eliminate them from your diet or, even better, start to look at the bigger picture. Go see a holistic nutritionist, or a really good naturopath, and they'll be able to tell you why certain food groups or health problems pop up into your life--and how to fix them. Remember, a happy body is a happy mind; and a happy mind is a happy body!
Stop What You're Doing…  stand up, and start spinning in circles. Wherever you are, whatever it is you might be doing, start spinning in circles with your arms outspread and a big silly smile on your face. Why? Because life's too short to take everything and yourself so seriously. Learn to let go and to have fun and be unashamed. ;)
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” ~ J.K. Rowling. So remember to turn on the light!
